Primarily developed applications in a mixed LAMP/Windows/IIS/SQL Server environment.

Extensive training in the business’ product workflow was used to build new and refine existing applications to improve the efficiency of each department. End users were interviewed while gathering requirements to build to their needs. The applications bridged the gap between the mySQL- and SQL Server-based systems.

Primarily developed solutions in LAMP environments, with occasional work in Windows/IIS/SQL Server/ASP.

Gathered requirements from the client to determine the best tools to build their solution, be it custom-built or through a vendor. Delivered ballpark estimates to give our Account Management group a rough idea of the timeline and price, and then wrote detailed estimates which broke down each phase into a list of the specific tasks and their associated time and cost. Technical specifications were written based on the detailed estimate, mapping out each piece of functionality with explicit instructions on how to configure the site’s environment, which modules to install, and other details.

Lead project teams; managed the project’s timeline and the workload of developers on the project team. Acted as a technical client lead, giving clients a single resource to maintain and add new functionality to their sites. Documented completed projects as wiki pages for easy searching and updating by all employees. Maintained a history of issues with sites in a bug tracking system for easy reference later when similar issues would come up.

Performed light system administration tasks: being on-call during the evening to tend to site and server outages and maintaining hundreds of registered domain names.

Primarily developed computer-based tests (CBTs) using client-side web technologies.

Promoted to Team Lead after demonstrating excellence in the Test Designer position. Defined and documented best coding practices and file structure standards. Established policies and procedures to streamline defect reporting and resolution. Supervised team members’ schedules and workload. Led training sessions with new hires and both internal and external clients.

Client-side web technologies were used to build CBTs: questions were presented in HTML, XML defined their attributes (such as the correct answer), CSS simplified the formatting of exams, and scripting with JavaScript and VBScript added interactivity. Provided support to clients. Accountable for safeguarding the privacy and security of clients’ highly confidential and sensitive data.

Designed and developed an Access database that featured a simple graphical user interface to allow non-technical users of the database to submit queries and generate easy-to-read reports without needing to be proficient in SQL.
